According to the National Weather Service, a powerful storm system ahead of a Pacific cold front will bring dangerous fire conditions and high winds to the San Antonio region and Hill Country on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Low probability storms are possible late Wednesday into early Thursday morning, and one or two isolated storms may generate significant hail overnight.

A considerable bigger threat is expected Thursday afternoon.

According to NWS, the Coastal Plains and the northern Interstate 35 corridor will be the most dangerous regions. The Hill Country, including majority of Bexar County, is somewhat at danger.

The major hazards, according to the official forecaster, are damaging straight-line winds and sporadic tornadoes. 50 mph wind gusts are possible.
